The Artist –
Theo (Faye) Nangala Hudson (born 1989) is recognised as one of the most prominent young artists from Yuendumu, who paints for the art centre: Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation. This art centre is located west of Alice Springs and was established in 1986. She began painting at age 13 after having watched her Grandmother paint and listen to her stories.
This work – Pikilyi is an important natural spring and water-hole at Mt Doreen Station in the Northern Territory. Pikilyi is the home of two rainbow serpents, a married couple. The wife was a Napananka skin group and the husband a Japangardi, a taboo relationship in the Walpri culture. The serpents are the “kirda’ traditional owners of that country.
All Better World Arts products return royalties to the artists and their communities.
